Carlsen plays the ECCC-2022

A total of 58 teams with 410 players from 42 nations have registered for the European Chess Club Cup in Mayrhofen in the open section and 12 teams with 54 players from 18 nations in the women’s section.

The chess world can look forward to the participation of World Champion Magnus Carlsen. He will lead his Norwegian team “Offerspill Chess Club”, which is seeded third behind “Asniere Le Grand Echiquier” from France and the Czech “Novy Bor Chess Club”. In addition to Carlsen, seven players with an elo rating above 2700, Mamedyarov, Vachier-Lagrave, Erigaisi, Harikrishna, Vidit, Alekseenko and Maghsoodloo, are also taking part.
