First win for Carlsen in Mayrhofen
Day 2 at the European Chess Club Cup: World Champion Magnus Carlsen was at the start for his Norwegian club Offerspill this time with the white pieces.
In contrast to the draw in round 1, today he beat Grandmaster Alexander Naumann from Germany (Schachgesellschaft Solingen) after 2 hours and 53 minutes. Local hero Markus Ragger and chess legend Viswanathan Anand were not at the start today. Tomorrow the third round is on the program.
